About the Production
Perspective was a community Christmas production performed on the 18th December, 2016 involving 284 volunteers, inc. 150 young people from ages 4 to 18. The production was devised and directed around the concept that each of us have different perceptions of well-known events. What if we were to look at them from another point of view? Each scene was devised around a different sense. To illustrate these themes, the production’s main thread was a scaffold placed on stage that would move around between scenes - giving narrators’ new angles to watch from and comment on.
My Approach
My approach for this project was to maintain the clarity of the storytelling, ensuring that everybody moved in the same direction, using creative, sensory, and visual elements in order to solidify the abstract and metaphorical style; while also allowing every participant to grow in their gift and talents.
